There’s nothing better than year-round sunshine.  Although if I’m being honest, I’m MORE pale living here in LA than I was in London. Ok maybe an exaggeration but as a girl who tans really easily, I’ve definitely maintained my fair skin. While I know nothing feels better than having a bronzed babe look, it is incredibly bad for your skin. Even more important than appearance is preventing skin cancer. Honestly, a spray tan is the way to go if you’re really craving a sunkissed look.

That being said, here are my LA skincare necessities I use to protect my skin:

Supergoop Glow Stick sunscreen SPF 50:

I recently purchased this glow stick and I am SUCH a fan. It’s so easy to keep in your bag and reapply when needed. I like to touch up the areas around my lips after I eat or drink since that’s where sunscreen tends to wear off. Side note – the area around the lips tend to be forgotten but show age. The glow stick is very hydrating which is PERFECT for the dry LA weather. It also gives you that dewy skin goal look.

Driving gloves:

A few months ago I was driving and starting internally freaking out about how much sun exposure my hands must be getting. Hands are a give-away for your age so it’s important to take care of them. It’s ESSENTIAL to apply sunscreen (along with your neck and chest). If you are as meticulous as me, I suggest investing in a pair of driving gloves. That way you don’t have to be thinking about sun spots when you’re stuck in LA traffic.  #winning.

Umbrella:

We can thank Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins for making umbrellas chic. Not going to lie at first I was embarrassed walking down the street with my umbrella. Till I realized that A. no one cares what you do and B. I’d rather have nice skin than care what other people think. I love this one because it’s UV protected and has pretty stars to look up at.  I don’t go anywhere without it.

And voila!  Those are my three skincare necessities that really work to keep your skin looking healthy. PLEASE let me know if you know of any other tips and tricks. All about upping my skincare game.
