Prepare Your Skin for Fall
Posted on September 10th, 2018
It’s hard to believe that summer has come and gone. It feels like it won’t be long before we’ll be clinking champagne glasses and ringing in the New Year! As the weather starts to cool, we notice changes in our skin. Womp womp.
Below are some ways/products that help prepare your skin for the fall. (Sidenote – how cute is this puppy?!)
Use a serum with antioxidants
If you spend time in the sun you might notice sun spots or discoloration. Free radicals (created from exposure to the sun, pollution and cigarette smoke) age our skin. Serums with antioxidants work to fight those pesky problems. It is worth incorporating into your fall routine.
I’ve been using Tumerica Facial Repair Serum. It’s affordable, I like the texture, and it has antioxidants. In addition, I use GOW Alpha Arbutin 2% and Kojic Acid 1% Serum to fight discoloration. The directions are to use twice a day but I use a small amount once a day. I focus the product on my nose where I’m prone to get sun spots. I have noticed tremendous results and highly recommend this product. It is more effective the sooner you treat the sun spots.
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize
Along with pumpkin everything and insta-worthy fall pics, weather transitions to harsher climates causing skin to become dry and flakey. Combat the weather by upping your moisturizing game. I just started using Soko Glam Waterfall Moist Balanced Hyaluronic Acid 100. It’s an ampoule that locks in hydration. Although the texture is slightly sticky, my skin does feel more hydrated. It’s still early days, however, so I will report back with future updates.
To end my morning and evening routine I use Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Crème. It’s perfect for sensitive skin and feels so soothing to the skin. Definitely recommend!
Invest in a humidifier
Invest in a humidifier and pave the way for your skin in the fall. Humidifiers pump water vapor in the air to increase the humidity level. Some of the benefits include helping dry skin and headaches. The important thing is to make sure it is kept clean. One a week I rinse mine with distilled water.
