Set an intention
Posted on June 29th, 2016
Staying positive during your recovery is crucial for your healing but it isn’t always easy. You’re uncomfortable; some days are really painful and waking up can be terrible since you’re so stiff from having your brace locked all night.
Setting your daily intention is a great way to keep you positive, motivated and on track. For example, my intention today is to keep being persistent and positive despite any negative setbacks. Setting an intention in the morning keeps me on a track to work hard and to make sure to learn something new from that day. In the blink of an eye the healing process will be over and you’ll be back to your normal routine so it’s worth it to make the most out of this experience – to really learn from it as much as possible. That can be difficult when you’re stiff and in pain and, if you’re like me, the painkillers make you extremely nauseous. That is why setting your intention serves as a great mental reminder to start the day with the right attitude. If you stray and find yourself in a negative or dejected state, remind yourself of your intention. Be proud of yourself that you’re the type of person who wants to make this experience as enriching as possible.
Every experience, good and bad are a chance for growth and wisdom. Embrace your inner warrior. Strengthen the light within. Respond to the negative with an open heart and love. Bad moments will pass and the sun will come out again.
